Hey there, I’m Karel, a passionate photographer who finds endless fascination in the world around me. Ever since I can remember, I’ve been driven by a desire to understand and capture the essence of a world that often seems incomprehensible. This fascination is a constant presence in my photography, where I strive to capture moments and scenes as I experience them.

It all began with me sneaking off with my dad's camera during family trips, snapping away with pure excitement and zero technical know-how. In school, I was the one always carrying a camera, capturing memories while my friends stuck to their phones. Back then, I relied on automatic settings, blissfully unaware of the art behind the lens.

Everything changed when I was 16. My dad launched a local news website, and I jumped at the chance to cover the local village festival. Armed with his fancy camera, I thought I’d nail it. Spoiler: I didn’t. Determined to master the craft, I spent the next two weeks devouring photography
books and binge-watching tutorials. That’s when I discovered the magic of manual settings, and my true journey began.

For me, photography is a way to express what words often can't capture. It's about freezing a moment in time, revealing the intricate details and fleeting emotions that make life so extraordinary. When I'm behind the camera, the world's noise fades, and I become fully immersed in the process, focusing on the essence of each scene and story.

Voor mijn website had ik foto's nodig van mijn praktijk en mezelf aan het werk. Ondanks voor de lens staan ver uit mijn comfortzone is stelde Karel me direct op mijn gemak, waardoor alles heel natuurlijk aanvoelde. Hij weet precies hoe hij je vastlegt zonder dat het geforceerd lijkt. De foto's zijn prachtig en echt een weerspiegeling van hoe ik ben. Heel tevreden en vol verbazing durf ik zeggen: voor herhaling vatbaar!

Voor een recente actie rond betaalbaar wonen heb ik Karel ingeschakeld als fotograaf, en hij heeft mijn verwachtingen overtroffen. Hij begreep precies welke beelden nodig waren om de essentie van het evenement vast te leggen, en leverde zowel horizontale als verticale foto's die direct klaar waren voor social media. De foto's waren niet alleen visueel verbluffend, maar ook strategisch perfect: elk beeld versterkte het verhaal dat ik wilde vertellen.
